Default Need help converting MS Access to Excel

Hi,
I'm using MS Access 97, I'm pretty sure (am not in front of that
computer) and Excel of the same vintage.

I would like to convert my MS Access DB to an Excel spreadsheet, but
didn't see any obvious way to do it (didn't see anything likely in the
Export command), and when I tried just copying from Access (not sure
which view I was in, but looking at a grid full of data) and pasting
into Excel, the formatting was messed up (that is, what was in one
field in Access didn't end up in one field in Excel; IIRC, it took
everything from the Access DB and put it into one Excel field).

If anyone has ideas, please let me know. If all else fails, I will
type the whole thing into Excel, but would like to avoid that. :-)

Thanks.

With Excel open to a new workbook.

Try DataImport External DataNew DataBase Query.

Find your Access DB and follow your nose.

With the table open, do a File / Export, twards the bottom where it says Save
as Type, when you click the little triangle on the right side of the field,
what options show up?
You are trying to export a table, not a report, right?
