You could apply autofilter to a single column by clicking on the
column identifier to highlight the column, then Data | Filter | Autofilter. If you do not require the entire column, just highlight the range you want the filter to apply to (eg C3:C25) then Data | Filter | Autofilter. The filter pull-down will now appear in C3.
