It probably has nothing to do with the file size. Perhaps a corrupt XL2003
installation. Are you able to open any file at all in your 2003 version? Check also the contents of the XL2002 version, any special add-ins it might be using, etc. Provide more information on why you think the problem is related to the file size. What error messages do you get from XL2003? Perhaps others would see the problem when you post more information.
