Default Change Cell to Red

I have an End Date of my spreadsheet of projects. If the project wasn't
completed on time I would like box to turn red. Is there a way to do that?
If so, please help.

Default Change Cell to Red

use conditional formatting:
Formats<Conditional Formatting

Make "Cell Value is" "Greater Than" and input your cutoff date.

Copy that cell
Highlight the entire column
Edit<Paste Special
Select Formats and click Ok
