I follow the instructions, TOOLS, OPTIONS, GENERAL TAB, then put my new font
in the STANDARD FONT BOX, then the same for the SIZE BOX. then click OK. I then open up a new work sheet as instructed but the font and size are both unchanged. Has a lock of some sort or a protection of some sort been operated? |

You must close then re-open Excel after making the changes to
ToolsOptionsGeneralStandard Font. Excel should give you a message to that effect when you make any changes. Did you close and re-open Excel? Another problem you may be having is that you have a Workbook Template that overrides the default settings for new workbook.
