Default Printing numerous blank pages

Windows XP, Office 2003; When displaying within the print preview, the
margins change. Rather than displaying 1 of 2; it shows 1 of 1000. With the
margins only about 1 inch width, it prints that way as well.

When the user ends the task, opens the file again it prints and displays in
the print preview correctly.

It happens sporadically, with different files and according to the client it
happens with different printers.

I ran Microsoft Office updates and suggested he highlight the cells and use
the print selection option. He plans on trying that the next time it occurs.

I did look at other postings, but none looked like it applied to this issue.
Any ideas?

Thanks
