I have a 60 day trial of excel 2007 and want to have a play with macros.
I have enabled the macros in the security settings and displayed the developer ribbon bar but the option to record a macro is inactive. I even tried to save the workbook as a xlsm file. Any help gratefully recevied. Anita |

Long shot but is the VBE installed? What happens when you click the "Visual
Basic" button on the Developer tab? -- Jim "Anita" wrote in message ... I've done all of that and the button to record is inactive. that button is also greyed out - does that mean it isn't installed then?

My guess it that the VBE is not installed. I can't be sure since I've never
not installed it. Unfortunately it is an optional component. I hope you can re-run the installer and select it. It's under "Office Shared Features". -- Jim "Anita" wrote in message ... that button is also greyed out - does that mean it isn't installed then? thanks "Jim Rech" wrote: Long shot but is the VBE installed?
