Default Excel links to worksheets show only formula

I am trying to link worksheets and workbooks but all I get is the formula not
the value of the link, even when I use Paste/Link cells. What am I doing
wrong?

Two things to try.

Make sure you are pasting the values.

or

Press CTRL +` (the ` symbol is the key below the ESC key)

Hi Ben

Yes, Mike is right.

To make it very clear, "Ctrl + `" - shortcut key enables Tools - Option -
View
- Formulas
