Default Column headings are numeric rather than alphabetic

My column headings have unexpectedly changed from letters to numbers. How
can I change them back to letters? Thanks!

Go to the Tools menu, choose Options, then the General tab. There, uncheck
the "R1C1 Reference Style" setting.
