Default Rounding off decimal places

I have a whole workbook that automatically rounds off the decimal places and
I do not know how to turn this off. It happens with hard coded numbers, but
not the values of formulas. It happens when I click "subtract decimals"
button on the formatting menu bar. When I add back decimals to the format,
the number has been rounded up or down permanently.
Any ideas would be appreciated
