Default worksheet size

Currently the new worksheet of Excel2000 on my pc is defaulted to 231
columns. How can I change it to 256 columns?

Thanks.

The last column in Excel is called IV and it cannot be changed.
What makes you think you have only 231 columns?
best wishes

It sounds like you may have some columns that are hidden.

I'd do this:
edit|goto
Type:
1:256
Format|column|Unhide

If it happens whenever you create a new workbook, you could have a template
workbook that has those hidden columns.

Look for Book.xlt in your XLStart folder and open it and take a peek (and fix
it).

Thanks for the answer. I miscount the columns. The tips are useful.
