Currently the new worksheet of Excel2000 on my pc is defaulted to 231
columns. How can I change it to 256 columns? Thanks. |

The last column in Excel is called IV and it cannot be changed.
What makes you think you have only 231 columns? best wishes -- Bernard V Liengme www.stfx.ca/people/bliengme remove caps from email "golfwin" wrote in message ... Currently the new worksheet of Excel2000 on my pc is defaulted to 231 columns. How can I change it to 256 columns? Thanks. |

It sounds like you may have some columns that are hidden.
I'd do this: edit|goto Type: 1:256 Format|column|Unhide If it happens whenever you create a new workbook, you could have a template workbook that has those hidden columns. Look for Book.xlt in your XLStart folder and open it and take a peek (and fix it). golfwin wrote: Currently the new worksheet of Excel2000 on my pc is defaulted to 231 columns. Thanks for the answer. I miscount the columns. The tips are useful.
