Default changing folder order in File Save

Is it possible to change the order in which files and folders are displayed
when Saving a file in excel.
Right now it looks like they are displayed by the last file folder used.
When saving a new file for the first time I wind up hunting through a fairly
long list of folders and files one at a time to find the one I want. It
would be much simpler if they were alphabetic. Can this feature be changed
and how do I do it?

That's what those big buttons of the left side of the box (vertically arranged) are for.
If they don't point you to the location you want then add your own folder button.
Do that by first finding the folder you desire and select it.
Then at the top right of the box, click Tools and select "Add to My Places".
Also, you can right-click any one of the buttons and change it's vertical placement.

Thanks Jim,
In looking at the Save box while trying your response I realized that if I
right click inside the Save list of files and folders window I can arrange
the folder icons just as I wanted. I get the my brain's on vacation award
for today.
