You can insert AutoCad drawings directly into Excel by doing INsert Object
CreateFromFileTab ....then follow the menus. As for it appearing there on entering a certain value in a certain cell......that would take a change-event macro. You could have Drawing Numbers/FileNames in cells as hyperlinks and just click on them .......or you could insert .jpg's into CommentBoxes to pop-up as the cell is moused-over. Tell us a little more about what you're wanting to do, and we might can help more........... You're welcome, happy to help, and thanks for the feedback.
Another thing you might consider, is Jim Cone's great Add-in called ListFiles. It's available at http://www.realezsites.com/bus/primi...e/products.php With it, you can interrogate a directory of AutoCad files and transfer a list of them into Excel with automatic Hyperlinks. Those hyperlinks can be just clicked on and the file will open in AutoCad.........pretty nifty.
