Changing the Insert Row / Column Default
Dear Sir,
I am currently using MS Excel 2002 at my work place. When I right click the mouse ang go to Insert, this function is default at Insert One Cell down instead of insert the entire row down. May I know is there anyway I can change this default for Excel 2002 as well as Excel 2007 ? In my office experience it is a very rare occation that I require to insert a cell down or towards its right. I have a feeling that this applies generally to majority of the office users. If the default sweting cannot be customized according to user need, I hope you could review this default setting in the coming MS Excel 2007 version. It would save an aditional step for each insert. Thanks Low -- A36B58K641 |

Changing the Insert Row / Column Default
When you want to insert a row, right click on the row itself (on the left,
where it says "18"). Don't right click on a cell (B18 for example). It is normal that if you right click on a cell, excel will try to insert a cell, but if you right-click on a row/column, it will insert a whole row or column. The other thing you can play with is selecting rows and columns and pressing CTRL+ and CTRL-. -- Allllen "Mr. Low" wrote: Dear Sir, I am currently using MS Excel 2002 at my work place. Changing the Insert Row / Column Default
Hello Allen,
But I think it is sensible to enable the insert entire row / column function at the cell level when the worksheet is large. It save the effort of going to the row / column reference to do this and return back to the working cell for some ongoing tasks. Any comment ? -- A36B58K641 "Allllen" wrote: When you want to insert a row, right click on the row itself (on the left, where it says "18"). Don't right click on a cell (B18 for example). Changing the Insert Row / Column Default
Mr. Low
Go to ToolsCustomizeCommands. Select "Insert" Category. Scroll down and find the Insert Rows icon. Drag it to your toolbar.
