I'm running into a problem when saving an Excel file in DBF 4 or 3 format.
Field data is being truncated when I do the save as to the DBF format. It seems to be only the longest fields in a column. I have a field with lengths from 80 to 40 characters and the fields from 72 up to 80 are truncated by 9 characters. I have the field expanded to accommodate the widest records when I save the file. Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this? Your help will be appreciated Dan |

Hi Dan,
I've had this problem when the columns weren't expanded far enough but you say that you've done that. Have you tried expanding them quite a bit wider than necessary? -- Cindy Winegarden MCSD, Microsoft Most Valuable Professional "DanS" wrote in message ... Yes, I can overcome the problem by expanding the fields usually by a few
characters but in this case I have to expand it by 20 characters in order to overcome the problem. There has got to be some logical explanation for why this happens doesn't there?
