Default retrieve a saved over file

I saved over a very important file by mistake and lost all of the previous
information. Is there any way to find it? I saw that someone found it on
their Home directory in the temp file, but I have no idea what that is or how
to look there.

Nope. Saved is saved and the old file has been physically overwritten. If you
are on a system that is backed up regularly (most office networks are backed
up regularily) then you could restore the file from the backup tapes...
