Default Excel changes numbers

Strange problem popped up today - independent of the working in use - a new
blank, new from a template, or previous sheet - every whole number is
replaced by 1/100 of that number - ie, 1 is replaced by 0.01, regardless of
cell format. This is isolated to my computer. Excel has been
removed/reinstalled, updated, run excel.exe /unregserver & then /regserver -
no change. There are no hidden macros. Aaargh! Hard to get any work done!
Please help!

Tools|Options|Edit tab|uncheck fixed decimal places.

Lots of accounting type people like this to make data entry easier.

(Normal people <vbg hate it!)

I just wanted to add that this just started happening to my excel
spreadsheets today too. Was there some kind of windows download that changed
the default of this box to become checked? I don't believe mine was ever
checked before.

Maybe.

You could have downloaded a workbook/addin that had a macro that changed this
setting.

I've never seen it change for me in any automatic fashion, but there have been a
load of people who could never explain how that setting got toggled.

I'll count you in that group!
