Default Getting data from one spreadsheet into another

Hi everyone

I have one spreadsheet which has a postcode (zip code) column - ie B12 UBD.

I have another spreadsheet which has one column with a sales consultants
name and one column with the postcode they cover which is only the first 3 or
4 digits of the postcode in the first spreadsheet.

I want to be able to put the sales consultants name into the first
spreadsheet. I'm sure there is a look up I can do as there are 8500 lines but
not sure how to do it

Can anyone help??

Hi, Elaine-
Can you post an example of your data, to show how it is presented and
what information there is to work with? This will help to generate a
solution.

For instance: does the source information look like this (the sales rep
and the partial post code)
Allen B12
Bob B13
Charles B14
David B15
Ezra B16

Thanks
