Default run setup in maintenance mode excel 2003

I just had Excel 2003 installed and and I getting the following message in
both excel 2003 and word "There are no office assistant character files
present on the system. Please run Setup in maintenance mode and install at
least one character".

Can someone help me on this procedure

To get to Maintenance Mode........................

Close any Office applications.

Go to StartControl PanelAdd/Remove and select MS Office and "change" then
select the option Add or Remove FeaturesNextcheck option at "choose advanced
customization"Next. Scroll down to "Office Shared Features" and select Office
Assistant.

Pick one or more. Set to "run from my computer" and OK your way out.

Plunk in your CD when asked by the wizard.
