Default Using external data to connect to a .pst file

I'm finding the export function a bit lacking for the reporting I wish to do
for my Outlook appointments (it would be great to see the label field
exported). I thought I might be able to get at all my data if I knew how to
connect Excel to the .pst file. If I have to set up an ODBC connection, I
don't know what type of database I would choose, none of them seem right.
Thanks in advance..
