Default Employee = rate of pay

How do I set up a cell that autofills the rate of pay based on the employee
name entered in another cell?

Take a look a VLOOKUP function or INDEX and MATCH in Help menu

Hi Laurel,

See if this helps you out;

Employees names in A2:A4
Their pay rate in B2:B4
Their hours worked in C2:C4

A drop down valadation list of the employees in D2

This formula in E2
=VLOOKUP(D2,A2:B4,2,0)*VLOOKUP(D2,A2:C4,3,0)

Select an employee from the drop down and their gross pay is returned in E2

HTH
Regards,
Howard
