Default How do I get word wrap format to remain in an Excel pivot table?

When working in a pivot table, I format a column or cells to word wrap.
However, once I manipulate the pivot table in any way (i.e. choose a new
variable, or subcategory within a variable) the word wrap format goes away.
I would like it to remain permanently. Any ideas? Thanks.

There are instructions here for preserving the formatting applied to a
pivot table:
