How does one insert a check box in 2007? I just need it to display a check
mark when selected. Nothing more complex than that. Any ideas? |

You can insert a checkbox from the controls toolbar. Click "design" (the grean triangle) then click the checkbox icon and drag a rectangle over the cell where you want the checkbox to appear. Then right click the checkbox and select "properties", Under "linked cell" you specify the cell that's going to hold the result of the checkbox and under "caption" you explain what the box is to specify. I'm not sure Hans noticed you were asking about Excel 2007.
Check boxes, etc., are on the Developer tab of the Ribbon. The Developer tab is not visible by default. To make it appear click the Office menu (the circle in the top left of Excel) and then click Excel Options at the bottom right of this menu. Select the third item on the "Popular" section. Then on the Developer tab click Insert in the Controls group. I'd suggest you select the Forms check box but the ActiveX version is there too. -- Jim "aleap" wrote in message ... | Hans - thanks for the reply but I cannot locate the green triangle which | respresents design, can you lead me to where that is located? Oh, absolutely correct! I'm on Excel 2000.
Hope your comment solves the problem. Thanks! Hans Jim Rech schrieb: I'm not sure Hans noticed you were asking about Excel 2007. Check boxes, etc., are on the Developer tab of the Ribbon.
