Default Colour formatting that doesn't show up when printing

I want to be able to format various input cells in different colours so that
for example one user inputs data in the blue cells and another inputs data in
the yellow cells. However, I want these colours only to appear when viewed
on screen and not when printed. Is this possible?

I can do that but it's no good to me because the cell still appears shaded
(greyscale). What I need is colour when viewing it but a complete absence of
any colour or shading when printing it.

You probably have some other problem! I've checked again and it works.
Perhaps you have not only background colour but also fill pattern set.
