Default Excel 2007 beta 2 - Conditional Formatting Suggestion

I like the improvements to Conditional Formatting (CF), especially the
removal of the 3 rule limit and the ability to re-order the rules (new
applicable formats are nice too...) but I have two issues - one longstanding,
one new - and one question

New Issue: CF auto-extends the range to which it applies - which is nice
except when one uses e.g. autosum to total a range and one has e.g.
formatting based on the average (the total then distorts e.g. all magnitude
bars)

Suggestion: employ some formula consistency checking and offer the user the
choice of applying the CF to the newly added total or not (yes, the extended
CF formatting can be removed from the newly added cell, but that is a
workaround to undo a change that perhaps should not have been made)

Question: can the ranges of rules be defined in terms of named ranges, so
that one might change the applicability of a whole set of rules at once?

Old Issue: keypad navigation (home, end, up, down etc.) still moves the
selection on the worksheet and inserts ranges into formulas - very useful
sometimes, but rarely when editing formulae.

Suggestion: offer use the choice of editing keys working in the editable
text or on the worksheet

Regards

Julian
