Default No. of rows selected from auto filter not visible on toolbar?

When i put an auto filter on a column on excel, and select a particular
option from the drop down filter menu, the number of rows selected for that
option is not appearing at the bottom left hand corner on the toolbar....

Is Application.DisplayStatusBar set to Tue?

Try
the farmulae at the bottom of your data

=subtotal(2,a1:a100)
