Default MS query--can it handle parameter queries from Access?

I'm trying to use Excel and MS Query to return data based on a parameter
query made in Access.

When I try to run the MS Query function I get an error "too few parameters.
Expected X" where X is the number of parameters designed into the query in
access. I guess I assumed MS Query would show a pop up window for the user
to enter the relevant parameter, as is done in Access.

Is this a limitation of MS Query? Or are these types of queries more
properly designed within the MS Query query design tool?

Thanks.

Dave
