Excel, how to turn off "send to" function when highlighting cells?
How do you turn off the "send to" automatic email function when you mouse
over or highlight a cell. A short click launches email and a long click highlights the cell without launching email, but this drives you crazy. |

Excel, how to turn off "send to" function when highlighting cells?
Are these cells with hyperlinks or email addresses in them?
If you right-click in the cell, there is an option to remove the hyperlink. I also think that if you hold CTRL when you click in a cell, that forces Excel to ignore the hyperlink/email address. Finally, if you have many cells with hyperlinks/email addresses there is some code you can add which will automatically remove them all. Something like this would do it: http://www.tech-recipes.com/microsof..._tips1323.html -- Brevity is the soul of wit. Remove the hyperlink.
Select the cell edit|hyperlink|click the remove the hyperlink If you're using xl2002+, you can stop email addresses from becoming hyperlinks when you type them: tools|autocorrect options|autoformat as you type tab| uncheck "internet and network paths with hyperlinks" box Or start your entry with an apostrophe: DNAISH wrote: How do you turn off the "send to" automatic email function when you mouse over or highlight a cell.
