Default Fill colors and sorting

I have a spreadsheet that has certain rows highlighted to denote status.
When I add information and re-sort to alphabetize the colors do not move with
the data.

Can you help.

Hi,

For your cells to keep their formats, take a look at Format
Conditionnal formatting ...

Conditionally formatted colors do not sort with the data.
However, normal color formatting does sort with the data.
Borders of any type never sort with the data.
