My pictures inserted into Excel spreadsheets do not show up on screen (I can
get them to show if I change something using the picture toolbar, but they
disappear again when I move the picture off the screen or do print preview)
but do appear when I print the spreadsheet. I tried Tools, Options, View,
Show all Objects but it still doesn't work. Please help!

I have the same problem as you describe. If I right-click on the picture and
select Order and send it to front (or back), the picture appears, but as soon
as I scroll down the screen it disappears again.

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? I am running Excel 2002
(XP) with 1 gig of memory and a 2.2 gig Celeron processor.

Does this happen with all files, or only just the one?........if only the
one, then might could be there is a larger "picture" or drawing object
overlaying the picture and maybe a macro is re-setting the
"order"..........try opening the file without enabling macros and see if it
acts the same.

Yes, this happens with any file that has picture objects. Even happens in
Word.

Generally the files are on a network server. It is interesting to note that
when I copy the file to my hard drive and then open it, it sometimes will
display the pictures. And then again not, unless I close Excel and then
reopen it.

Another user in my department, has a PC with half as much memory as mine and
he can open the network files and see the pictures without a problem.

Any other thoughts?

If the other guy can log on your computer under his name and it works ok,
then there is some difference/problem with your log-in profile. Have MIS
check that. Then you try logging in on his computer under your login and if
that works ok, then the problem must lie with with your
hardware/software......if you still have the problem then your login profile
is definitely the culpret.
