Default Why does 26000 display as 260.00 after formatting for numbers

Although the cells have been formatted for numbers, entries are displayed as
one hundredth of the keyed in number.
How do I get the displayed number to be exactly as keyed in?

Go to ToolsOptionsEdit and see if the Fixed decimal box is checked. If so,
uncheck it.
