How do I delete a macro in Excel 2003? Button is greyed out.
A co-worker recorded a print macro in one of my workbooks. It is of no value
(the workbook is only 3 pages and there is no need for a macro). Besides, the macro won't run because of the security setting on the workstation. I am trying to delete the macro because the dialogue box that explains why it can't run is annoying. I follow the Help directions and go to Tools/macro/macros/this workbook and highlight the macro but the only available buttons are "Run", "Cancel" and "Step into". The "Delete" button is greyed out. How do I delete this thing? TIA, MG |

Go to tools/macro and click on Visual Basic Editor. Then click on Sun/Run
Macro.. You will see the delete button. Click on the macro you want and then delete.. With the workbook open, hit ALT + F11 to get to the Visual Basic Editor.
CTRL + r to open Project Explorer. Find your workbook/project and expand. If you have more than one module, you will have to double-click on each until you find the right one. Select the macro text and EditClear. If only one module and one macro in it, right-click on the module and "remove module". If you don't remove the module, you will still get the "macro warning". Click "no" to the "do you want to export etc." ALT + q to return to Excel. Save your workbook.
