Default Customising Filter features

When a filter is created and used the down arrow button is blue [V] and the
displayed vertical line numbers are also blue. Standard being black.

The problem being that at a glance and particularly for the inexperienced
user it is difficult to ascertain whether a filter is in place or not.

Is there anyway that you can change the colour of the button and displayed
vertical line numbers ??

I would like to be able to change tthis to say.... RED

I am hoping that there will be a solution that does not involve macro's as
the s/sheet being used is quite simple.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
