Hello All:
Odd request...we're looking for an Excel sharpie who'd like to become involved with our project. Ever heard of a "virtual airline"? It's a website hobby involving Microsoft Flight Simulator, where we simulate the operations of a real-world airline as closely as possible and practical (ours happens to be a small, regional bush-flying airline situated in British Columbia). Members join, they fly scheduled flights, and we try to do all the stuff a real airline would do...which includes tracking a pilot's flight-time, keeping records, and generating "virtual" paychecks for hours-flown. Basically, it means we need well-designed "Operations" spreadsheet that keeps track things like hours flown, fuel-used, engine hours, and a few other things. I've built one that works, but I'm a stumble-thumbs with Excel and it's far too labor-intensive. Anyway, that's the deal; we're looking for someone who'd like to get (and stay) involved with us, and become our in-house Excel guru. We'll do the routine grunt-work and data-entry, no worry about that...but we need your skills as a designer and consultant. It's a hobby, so unfortunately there's no money involved (unless you'll accept a "virtual paycheck")...but you'll get plenty front-page recognition on the website, along with free access to whatever LewisAire benefits you can use (such as Teamspeak).
We've been in operations for about a year; anyone interested in joining us can see what it's all about at:
www.lewisaire.com.
FYI: This will NOT require great amounts of your time, and we'll not ever abuse your generosity...that's a promise.
Best regards,
Garry )
