Cannot select a chart on an Excel worksheet
I have a rather frustrating problem. We have a study director that
receives study data via email in an Excel spreadsheet file. This file features charts on some worksheet pages along with data on the same page. Problem: If he saves the file to a study folder with permissions set by Active Directory and opens it from there, he cannot select a chart. If he e-mails the file from the study file to someone else, they cannot select a chart either. In both cases, the chart wizard icon is grayed out. If he opens the file directly from the email, or saves it to a folder on his desktop and then opens it, he can select charts. He has modify rights to the study folder. Here's the oddest part. If he opens the file in the study folder, as stated above, he cannot select a chart. If he leaves that file open and then opens a copy of the file from either the e-mail attachment or from a saved copy of the attachment on his desktop, he can select charts in either file. The study folder file lets him select files and the chart wizard is not grayed out anymore. I am at my wits end on this one. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Marc |

"The study folder file lets him select files and the chart wizard is
not grayed out anymore." should read... "...lets him select charts..." |
