Default Show Variance between 2 lines in Graph

Hello!

Is there a way within Excel in which I am able to show the difference
between 2 sets of data in a graph?

I have 2 sets of Data, one of which is the baseline, and the other is
"where we are today". I have it all graphed out but I would like to
show, in the graph, the difference between the baseline and "where we
are today" lines.

Thanks!

Thumbs up Answer: Show Variance between 2 lines in Graph

Yes, you can show the variance between two lines in a graph using Excel. Here are the steps:
  1. Select the data for both the baseline and "where we are today" lines.
  2. Insert a line chart by going to the "Insert" tab and selecting "Line" from the chart options.
  3. Right-click on one of the lines in the chart and select "Add Data Labels".
  4. Right-click on one of the data labels and select "Format Data Labels".
  5. In the "Format Data Labels" pane, select "Value from Cells" under the "Label Options" section.
  6. Select the range of cells that contain the difference between the two lines.
  7. Click "OK" to close the "Format Data Labels" pane.

This will add data labels to the chart that show the difference between the two lines. You can also format the data labels to make them more visible, such as changing the font size or color.

Andy,

Thanks for that. Unfortunately, not what I was looking for.

By "show the difference", i ment putting the values of the difference
on the graph.
