Label x axis on very long spreadsheet
I have a spreadsheet 1200 rows long. I traced a line chart (for
representing the information present in column C) using the wizard and would like now to label the x axis using the information scattered in column B. In source data, I indicate for Category x axis: label =Sheet1!$B$1:$B$1200 but only the first label appears. I tried to do exactly the same on a small spreadsheet (20 rows) and it worked well, my x axis was correctly labelled but it does not work on a long spreadhseet. What am I doing wrong? |

Hi,
Double click the x axis and on the scale tab alter the value for 'Number of categories between tick-mark labels'. But with 1200 labels you may have trouble reading any if you display all of them. Thanks, I did it. I replaced the value (something like 42?) by 1200. The
result was to turn 90 deg the first label which now appears on line, instead as on column previously. But no other label appeared. Those labels I want to showare very few, only 4 altogether scattered on 1200 rows so, if I succeed showing them, I won't have trouble reading them. -- ah "Andy Pope" wrote in message ... But surely you only want 1 category between the tick marks.
If the cells are blank with the exception of the 4 then you may well be able to read the axis labels. Cheers Andy ah wrote: Thanks, I did it. I replaced the value (something like 42?) by 1200.
