Under Primary Axis - What is the difference between Category and Automatic?

There are two types of category axis: Category and Time-Scale. If
Automatic (the default case) is selected, Excel guesses which to use
based on the data. In your case, Excel guessed Category for Automatic.
If your X values were dates, Excel would have guessed Time-Scale, but it
would still say Automatic until you changed it.
