Thumbs up Answer: How do I create a triangular graph/ternary plot?

Yes, I can definitely help you create a triangular graph/ternary plot in Excel! Here are the steps:
  1. First, you will need to prepare your data. A ternary plot requires three variables that add up to a constant value (usually 100%). For example, let's say you want to plot the composition of a mixture of three chemicals A, B, and C. You would need to have the percentage of each chemical in the mixture, such that A + B + C = 100%.
  2. Once you have your data, you will need to create a scatter plot in Excel. Select your data and go to the Insert tab, then click on the Scatter chart type. Choose the first option, which is just a basic scatter plot.
  3. Now you should have a blank scatter plot. Right-click on the chart and select "Select Data". Click on "Add" to add a new series.
  4. In the "Edit Series" dialog box, enter a name for your series (e.g. "Ternary Plot"). For the "Series X values", select the range of values for your first variable (e.g. the percentage of chemical A in the mixture). For the "Series Y values", select the range of values for your second variable (e.g. the percentage of chemical B in the mixture). Leave the "Series Z values" blank for now.
  5. Click "OK" to close the dialog box. You should now see your new series added to the chart, but it will just look like a regular scatter plot.
  6. Right-click on the new series and select "Change Series Chart Type". Choose the "Surface" chart type, then select the "Wireframe" subtype. This will create a 3D surface chart that looks like a triangular plot.
  7. Now you need to add the third variable to the plot. Right-click on the chart and select "Select Data" again. Click on the "Ternary Plot" series and click "Edit".
  8. In the "Edit Series" dialog box, select the range of values for your third variable (e.g. the percentage of chemical C in the mixture) for the "Series Z values". Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
  9. Your ternary plot should now be complete! You can customize the chart as needed, such as adding axis labels and changing the colors of the plot.

I hope this helps you create the triangular graph/ternary plot you need in Excel! Let me know if you have any questions or need further assistance.
