I am hoping to recreate a bubble chart with excel that I previously created
online. However, I'm not sure if it is possible. The online chart expresses the relationship of elements to one another using the size (similar to the excel bubble chart option) but without the need for x and y values. See an example he http://manyeyes.alphaworks.ibm.com/m...industry-types Thanks, -- lcoleman |

You can of course create dummy x and y series to allow you to place the bubbles whereever you want them. But a bubble chart does require those series or the bubbles will overlap most likely. -- If this helps, please click the Yes button. The site is
http://manyeyes.alphaworks.ibm.com/m...industry-types You don't see the X and Y axes, and they're not explicitly scaled to actual variables. They are, however, used to position the bubbles, and behind the scenes there is code that dynamically adjusts these X and Y coordinates as options are chosen. This is possible in Excel, but it sure would take a lot of coding. - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP Peltier Technical Services, Inc. http://PeltierTech.com/WordPress/ _______ "Shane Devenshire" wrote in message ...
