Default X-axis labels

I am having problems displaying mulit-level x-axis labels. Even though I
have selected and increment of 1, the higher levels only print periodically.
For example, I have three years with monthly data by hours. The data are all
there but only one year label appears, one in five months, and all of the
hours labels. Is there a specific format in the spreadsheet that will allow
all levels to be printed to the graph? I have them each in separate columns
right now.

"Monthly data by hours"? I'm not sure what this means, other than it sounds
like a lot of data.

I just made a dummy chart with year in one column, month in the next, and
day of the month in the third. I only went as far as three months, but
that's a lot of axis labels. I made a line chart with three levels of axis
labels, and every label I expected to see was present. The date numbers were
overlapping, but still Excel drew them all.

What version of Excel are you using? I'm using 2003, and I know 2007 is a
little finicky when it comes to formatting axes.

Hi,

Let me guess, you are in 2007? I've seen, duplicated, and reported this
problem. There doesn't seem to be a workaround in 2007 but if you put it in
2003 or earlier it seems to work fine.
