how to combine two chart type in one graph
Hi,
Add both series as the same chart type, say line chart, then select one of the series, and change the chart type to bar (column), and select it's axis as secondary. You may wish to adjust the scales of each of the axes to make the grid lines, if any, look ok. Dave "Fayez" wrote: How to combine two charts type in one graph. how to combine two chart type in one graph
Thank you Dave,
I did that, but the problem when I combine the column (instead of bar). It post the data for example with the right or secondary scale, but in reveres order. It is somewhat complicated to explain, but let me try. It post the left hand side line chart to read from left to right. Now the coulmn chart reads from right to left. as well it reversed the data, possitive vs. negative as well. i hope expalined it right. how to combine two chart type in one graph
Hi,
I don't quite understand what's going wrong. Possibly something to do with your data layout. Could you post or email an example, and I'll look at it for you? how to combine two chart type in one graph
Hi,
Ok, what I am actually trying to do is to post the labels along the changes coulmns. The problem is show the column hight as of the vlaue. But when trying to point to the column, it give information about the reveres data. In this case, changes on Jan 23, will read as of changes on Jan 10. It dispaly correctly, but reads in reveres order. Thank you, fAYEZ I posted what axix each data should be. I want to have the label for each column on top. I used this graph in excel 2003 and has been working, only when I convert to 2007 lost this type of set up. Date Cost Locally (Primary Axis) Change (Secondary Axis) Reason (Secondary Axis) Cost Abroad (Primary Axis) 23-Jan 40 (3.00) Cold 38 22-Jan 43 4.00 Accident 36 21-Jan 39 1.00 Supply 35 20-Jan 38 (1.00) Strike 37 19-Jan 39 2.00 Trafic 33 18-Jan 37 2.00 Weather 35 17-Jan 35 (5.00) Strike 37 16-Jan 40 1.00 Supply 33 15-Jan 39 (2.00) Cold 38 14-Jan 41 5.00 Flud 39 13-Jan 36 (2.00) Delivery 37 12-Jan 38 9.00 Supply 35 11-Jan 29 (13.00) Strike 36 10-Jan 42 2.00 Weather 39 "Dave Curtis" wrote: Hi, I don't quite understand what's going wrong. how to combine two chart type in one graph
Hi,
We haven't "progressed"(!) to Excel 2007 yet, so I'm not sure what to suggest. If you can manage to construct the chart in Excel 2003, it should still be possible in 2007. Presumably it's just a well-hidden menu option. Dave "Fayez" wrote: Hi, Ok, what I am actually trying to do is to post the labels along the changes coulmns.
