Default Alignment Data Label changes when opening file Excel 2007

I have various data labels in my basic column chart. The text direction is
set to "rotate all text 270°". Everything looks fine until I re-open the
spreadsheet and the text direction is back to horizontal.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
