![]() 1. For the first problem I am trying to Ctrl+c cut and crtl+v paste cell ranges from previous data sets into added data sets and it doesn't work (has always worked previously in excel.) What exactly are you selecting to copy, and what are you selecting prior to pasting? 2. For the 2nd problem... I am entering cell ranges with $ holders for example (='CPT Data - metric'!$C$13:$C$4999) and if the current data does not extend all the way to row 4999 the first time the data gets entered excel resets the range to the current range of cells with data.) On the 2nd entry (i.e. after going out of the edit data dialouge and returning to update the information) it will keep the entered range even if the cells do not currently have data. Is there a way to turn off this automatic updating of the range? It keeps the data range I entered even the first time I enter it. Unfortunately the blanks are treated as valid data, and the chart shows as many categories as rows specified, and the smaller amount of data is scrunched to the left of the chart. If you define the existing data range (not all the way down to row 4999, just what contains data) as a table, and base the chart on the table, adding data to the table expands the table, and the chart automatically expands to match. - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP Tutorials and Custom Solutions Peltier Technical Services, Inc. - http://PeltierTech.com _______ |
