Thumbs up Answer: how to add subscript in a chart legend?

Yes, you can add subscript in a chart legend in Excel 2007. Here's how:
  1. Double-click on the chart to open the Chart Tools tab.
  2. Click on the Layout tab.
  3. Click on the Legend dropdown menu and select Legend Options.
  4. In the Format Legend dialog box, click on the Legend Key tab.
  5. Click on the label you want to add subscript to.
  6. In the Label Contains section, click on the Custom radio button.
  7. Type the label text in the text box, and where you want to add subscript, type an underscore (_) followed by the subscript text.
  8. Click OK to close the Format Legend dialog box.

Your chart legend should now display the label with the subscript text. Repeat these steps for any other labels you want to add subscript to.
