Default No Range on data

Im trying to create a chart that uses just the data that I enter, not a
range. For example, I have part numbers like 717000, 717003, 717009. I
don't want the entire range, I just want those three part numbers. I never
had this problem with older versions of excel, but 2007 I just can't seem to
figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
