How can I plot a graph using 4 daxes to show relationships?
Hello,
I would like to plot a graph showing the relationships between 4 variables. (this is engineering, and want to plot values at which failure will occur) I want to have a mad awesome sweet graph with 4 axis set up and a curve that goes around and probably joins up somewhere making some kind of shape. Is there anyway I can do this in excel? Regards, Scott |

Excel doesn't even do three axes well, certainly not in XYZ value axis form.
I doubt you'll find any graphics package that attempts four axes in 2D space (i.e., screen or paper). - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP Tutorials and Custom Solutions Peltier Technical Services, Inc. - http://PeltierTech.com _______ "Captain_Awesome" wrote in message ... Perhaps Excel's radar chart that sort-of wraps the Category axis around the
origin; it looks as if there are several Y axes coming from a central point and turns the lines of a line chart into circles around that origin. It allows you to compare several categories at once to decide which balance of factors suits you best. The radar chart is not a very good vehicle for information display. You
could almost as easily make a parallel coordinates chart: http://peltiertech.com/Excel/Charts/ParallelCoord.html - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP Tutorials and Custom Solutions Peltier Technical Services, Inc. - http://PeltierTech.com _______ "Jonathan589" wrote in message ... I'd argue except that I have now read your article and am forced to agree
with you! Thank you for pointing it out. "Jon Peltier" wrote: The radar chart is not a very good vehicle for information display.
