Default Seperate data set for labels?

How do you use a different data set for labels than the one which the data is
plotted on the graph with? For example, say you plotted a Distance vs. time,
but you wanted to put the city, state at each of those points? How could you
do this, with XP or Vista please.

Not a native Excel feature, but these add-ins are the usual recommendations:
Rob Bovey's Chart Labeler, http://appspro.com
John Walkenbach's Chart Tools, http://j-walk.com

For a small number of points you can do it manually by replacing the label
text of distance or time with your text.
