Default option buttons on charts

How do you insert a new option button on existing charts? Tried copy and
paste but this did not work.

Try using the option button via the Controls toolbar. Select the Option
Button on the Controls toolbar and drag it onto your spreadsheet. The use
copy and paste to add it to your chart.

Copy-Paste works for me. Alternatively, display the Forms toolbar, click on
the Option Button button, and draw a new control.

You can't add a controls toolbox control to your chart. Best you can do is
locate them both on the same worksheet.
